I don't have a lot of guns (fewer than a dozen handguns) and my goal is to clean, oil and store about 1/2 of them and concentrate on the the rest:
one SD revolver
one SD semi-auto
one SD carbine
one 22LR pistol for bullseye
one hunting platform (Contender with 22LR, 357Mag and 30-30 barrels)
The end result will be less overall shooting, but hopefully a real improvement in shooting skill. Unfortunately, ammo and reloading components are too expensive/scarce right now for me to shoot "just for fun", although I plan to have fun while I do it.
I'm not buying another 9mm or .380 in 2010! (unless of course it is rediculously cheap and goes bang). And I will find a .45 that is suitable for CCW at a decent price. And I will NOT beat myself up for buying the Mossberg instead of the Remington just to save the $110.
Finally join my local F&G so I can get more range time in a family-friendly environment... I can't wait to take my daughter out to shoot her new Crickett Can't do that at the indoor range, just a bit too loud for a little one.
My resolution is to only buy 2 guns in the New Year, join a range, takes some training classes, and finish out existing gun projects instead of taking on new ones.
