I grew up in the Bronx. I know, I know, what the hell is a "Bronx". Dad was an avid hunter and competitive shooter so there were lots firearms and reloading equipment in my NYC apartment. Started hunting with Dad when I was old enough to dress myself. It took 3 hours to walk up this mountain where he hunted but what a view. You could see Hunter mountain ski slope plain as day. That was a long time ago...

Anyone hunt with a lever rifle? What caliber?

I use my 35 rem and 44 mag

I'm going to stand here another hour then go check out another spot before heading back to my brothers. We have to go to Halstead PA. to pick a frew things up and stop in a couple of gun shops down there. PA Guns &Ammo in Greatbend PA and i think the other one is calLed Bluestone Outfitters in New Milford PA.

I don't know how guys used those old stands, I'll stick to the ground lol. That is pretty fresh snow so tracks are good.

As a NYC native, Bronx born, I know that Jonas Bronck was Swedish, not Dutch, as popularly thought. lol

I haven't seen that type of tree stand for a long, long time. I haven't been in a tree stand for over twenty years. When I hunted PA deer season I made a 4 foot by eight foot tree stand with steps going up to it, sides and a roof so I could sit in it when it rained and stay dry.

Are you going out in the morning by you. We only looked around the dead spring one time, there are pull off parking spots. So after noon may be better so we can see better.
