Like to thank pat and your brother for driving down and going hunting. We did not see any but I had a good time. Same with Brent thanks for coming down to.
hope we can do more next year.
Easy walk in and logging road sound nice. The spot we sat today was ok but deer just were not moving.I'd like that alot. The place I shot my spike is an old logging road. From the asphalt there is a slight up hill maybe 30 yds to the top, then it's downhill. From the street to the top of hill there is 4 well traveled deer paths. It's been the same for many years. An easy walk. I usually travel down the hill near ravine with creek flowing in the bottom.

Same up my way, wind kept them tucked away. Pushed the swamp a bit and didn't see a thing. Not sure if I'm going out in the AM, but am Sunday for sure. 3-5 inches of snow coming in the afternoonish so that should get their butts moving in the morning hours.Easy walk in and logging road sound nice. Nice, that jerky you made was good. We have not made summer sausage in years. Now your brother needs to catch up.I went to my daughters house for dinner this afternoon and shot a doe a little before the end of shooting time. One of last years vintage. I waited about twenty minutes before going to it incase the other deer that were with it came back to see what happened.
I dressed it off and hung it up in the air with a good size excavator they had there my SIL is working on.
I will be spliting it with my kids, they want to get some deer sticks (slim jim's) and summer sausage made up. I will put some into deer jerky.
We still have a bunch of doe tags left. There is a good size snow comeing in so they will be changing their patterns some.

I'd like one of those big commercial dehydrators but there pricey. I should get a smoker for down here. That one dad has works good. It was so good I had to put it in the fridge to keep from eating it all lol.I'm happy you enjoyed that pack of jerky.
I'd like to get another deer and process most of it into jerky, my brother bought a dehydrator last deer season and i bought another last week. I have to get it going because I fly back to Seattle next Friday.
He has everything bought to get it started, we pluged in the big freezer today. Now it's just getting another deer or two.
