In NYS we are screwed. They are trying to shutdown the firearms industry...

We have several options:
- Comply
- Flee
- Resist

What happens here might well determine what happens in many other states or nationwide so we need your help.
I wrote all representatives. Donated all my Christmas money to the NRA, Scope and other organizations.
As we speak I am drafting a letter to Time Warner Cable to inform them that if they do not cover this subject
objectively I am dropping their cable contract. This is a simple step all pro-constitution people can take and more
actions are coming to put huge financial and social pressure in a system that is broken. Should the check and balances
fail the people will not fail. We will not let this happen.

Even from other states please help us with your support. Call or write NYS senators and let them know that you are watching what is happening to liberty in one of our states and you are a supported of the constitution and the 2nd amendment.

I contacting representatives in IL too to let them know we are united. States will not be separated to be hunt one by one by a pack of wolves.

Most of the NYS firearm activism is (If I recall correctly) coordinated through the second amendment foundation, and the legal work is headed up by David Jensen.

I don't know if the NRA will be leading the charge on this one.

(I was a NYC resident and scope member while I was in college)

Keep fighting the good fight, someone has to hold the line.
 
SIMPLE CONCRETE IDEAS:

1 - Write your cable companies and give them 3 days to see some objective broadcasting on these fundamental issues that might well define the future of this nation and therefore even their own corporations. The federal ban has not been properly covered. All they have done is help radical politicians with radical agendas using the tragic and sad events after the shootings to exploit the fears of a brainless population.
They can decide if they want to continue the media circus that favors only the radicals. I will cancel my contract along with hundreds or thousands of other New Yorkers. We do not watch TV that much and the kids will enjoy netfix anyway w/o any of the corrupted news.
I will cancel my cable. This has gone too far. I like sports from time to time but I like my liberty a lot more.

2 - Whoever has a flag in their yard please feel free to raise it upside down.
I hate to do that but this is acceptable as a distress call so by any means this should not be considered disrespectful to the flag.
Work on a banner too. Let the others know about the huge assault on freedom and national security by NYS radical politicians.

Let's see what it does...

1) Makes guns with ONE feature an Assault Weapons.
2) Makes pre-ban anything. That means NO mags over 10 rounds AT ALL. That means the AR from 1996 is NOW ILLEGAL
3) Adds pump rifles the same as semi-auto rifles in terms if being an "assault weapon" with the necessary features.
4) Jacks up the penalties from a class D felony to a class B felony for possession. That takes the maximum punishment from seven to 25 years.
5) Eliminates most of the banned features... bayonet lugs, flash hiders, threaded barrels and grenade launchers are NOW allowed -- but barrel shrouds and muzzle brakes were added.

Good thing I'm not an AR guy with a big investment in pre-ban mags... I would be PISSED right now.

Fun Fact of the Day: A class D felony (the current for a folded piece of metal and a spring) is the same as selling 15.9 ounces of marijuana to a cop. Selling a cop a tractor-trailer load of marijuana is a class C felony.

I was worried they were going to go for a 6+1 cap, go after fixed-mag guns (including SKS, Garand, etc.). and make all semi-autos illegal (my 10/22 with 4 factory 10-round mags alone would have made me a 5x felon, plus a couple for my SMLE). Better than I thought we were going to see, but still not acceptable.

I am calling IL representatives too. We are writing to them from all over. Just to let them know the country is watching. We will not be subjects to this draconian laws. If they want to arrest someone they can start with thousands on day one because people are not going to destroy their firearms nor give up their rights.
This is unconstitutional in so many points.
 
I was more concerned with the fact that it would be illegal for anyone to own 10 or more firearms. Unless I read that wrong? Legalese has never been my strong suit.


S 265.04 Criminal possession of a weapon in the first degree.
A person is guilty of criminal possession of a weapon in the first
degree when such person:

(1) possesses any explosive substance with intent to use the same
unlawfully against the person or property of another; or
(2) possesses ten or more firearms; OR
(3) POSSESSES AN ASSAULT WEAPON; OR
(4) POSSESSES A LARGE CAPACITY AMMUNITION FEEDING DEVICE.
Criminal possession of a weapon in the first degree is a class B felony.
 
When you read the ban it is obvious that is about to disarm the population.
Almost everything will be rendered illegal. This is happening in many states.
The vicious attacks on the constitution will not stop here, they will continue with the help of the sensationalist media and the liberals with the radicals ideals.
Some Democrats are opposing to these measures because this is not about politics here, this is about the need for control at any cost. At the cost of crucifying the constitution.

So do me a favor. After you are done venting please write or call these goons even if you are out of state. We will do the same for your state when they come there and we will be in Washington to fight the Federal Ban as well.

In the mean time while all this non-sense is going on, our kids have to continue to go to the school in Officially designated Criminal Safe heaven areas.
 
MY LETTER TO TIME WARNER CABLE.

Dear Mr.xxxx
I am writing to you in a matter that I consider of extreme importance and great concern.
Like many citizens and parents I am horrified about the senseless murders of little innocent children and
other citizens in school shootings. I think we had enough of this and everyone knows that something
needs to be done by putting political ideas aside and work as one.

But the series of events that followed the shootings and how the media has been managing the news
is very disturbing.

The media fueled by a national hysteria has been using the airwaves and the internet to misinform the
public about the facts and, by rejecting precious opportunities for dialogue, ideas and cooperation has
been directly or indirectly helping political groups with radical agendas for disarmament of the
population to push their agendas.

Please let me remind you that the role of the broadcaster is to inform, to enlighten and to educate and
not to accuse, persecute or confuse the public about issues that are of extreme importance to the future
of our nation.

The line between investigating and accusing is a very fine one and the news channels all over the country
have been steeping over it continuously.
The media has been using its privileged position to confuse the public mind about the dangers of firearms
enthusiasts referring to honest hard working citizens almost as outlaws, portrait-ed as a lower class,
maybe less educated.

I don't have to remind you of the importance of our constitution including the right to free speech and the right
to bear arms and defend ourselves. The media has been very quiet about the potential benefits of properly
educated firearms owners and what they can contribute to resolve the existing security problems.

I have been very surprised about the lack of healthy, well moderated debate on radio and television as well as
the absence of factual data that the news channels should rely on.

Therefore I have decided to request the cancellation of my contract with your company. Logically and ethically
I cannot continue to support any corporations that are part of the broadcasting networks that use the resources
funded by consumers who are regular citizens like me and to support political agendas to further exploit the
fears of a confused and sensitive population.

Once I see that authentic broadcasting has returned to the airwaves I might consider to resume the services
with your company. In the mean time the TV is nothing but a box w/o any meaning to me.

My comment was removed from the bottom of the bill webpage. The "discuss" area. It was not vulgar and was on topic. Has anyone else tried to post there?
 
I've written my representatives several times each and donated more to the NRA-ILA fund.
I'll try to write your reps as well to let them know we are monitoring the situation and will donate money to whichever legislators uphold our Rights.
 
I just spoke to my State Senator, Joe Robach. We spent a while on the phone and he is firmly in my corner when it comes to gun control and the second amendment. He firmly believes that this is a good vs. evil thing, mental health, etc. He says that he believes that this legislation will not pass the state senate.

Left my contact information with the assemblyman's office. Will post when I get through over there.
 
Many thanks!!!!! I also wrote Robach and talked to him before. He is pro-liberty so we need more like him. I would not relax on this one.
I am going to put a list of News editors here and broadcasters to see if we can get them to listen and start covering the news with objective to the point data.

In the mean time drop your cable company. Let them know why. We cannot be complacent. We are at the next level now. We need to put some meaningful social and economic pressure. What everyone does here might well determine the future of this country and the liberty we have enjoyed for generations.
 
News contact info is a great start. I don't watch the news, or have cable, (cut the cord a while ago, get news info from RSS feeds, etc.) but I can imagine it's pretty bad by now.

We are also putting a list of measures that are really the next level.
A) Drop the cable connection and send the letters. This should be done nationally to get their attention.
B) We are getting people to stop state gambling. No one more cent to those states that are trying to rape the constitutional rights.
C) Massive mail and email to corporations sponsoring those radical news channels, organizations or anyone trying to destroy the republic.
No one more dollar to them.

Direct meaningful social and economic pressure. Pro-liberty and Pro-gun citizens have a lot of leverage. Their votes might be ignored
but they dollars will not be ignored.

More will come..

Section 5 here has me quite concerned. Is it blatantly saying that owning more than three firearms is considered criminal possession?

of such machine-gun, firearm, rifle or shotgun; or
(5) (i) Such person possesses three or more firearms; or (ii) such
person possesses a firearm and has been previously convicted of a felony
or a class A misdemeanor defined in this chapter within the five years
immediately preceding the commission of the offense and such possession
did not take place in the person's home or place of business; or
(6) Such person knowingly possesses any disguised gun[; or
(7) Such person possesses an assault weapon; or
(8) Such person possesses a large capacity ammunition feeding device].

I think is carrying 3 guns at the same time. I don't think that this is going to stop the 3 gun competitions because it would be an illegal law.
These draconian laws have only one purpose: to disarm the population.
It is not about gun control. It is about plain and simple control.

All the readers need to do this:
- Drop your cable company and send them the letter above.
- Stop gambling state lotto or any other source of income for the state that is being used to later feed and enforce these radical agendas.
- Write any companies that support anti-freedom anti-gun laws or advertise in the news channels that use their position to exploit the fears of the brainless population to further their radical agendas for disarmament.
- Call and write all the senators every day if you can or several times / week.

Convince others to do the same and those to convince others to do the same.
Do it. Have discipline, show solidarity and fight for your rights.
You will see results.

Some wonder what SHTF is, well this might well be the beginning of the SHTF so lets do everything in our power to stop this nonsense before it gets worse.
 
WE will take them. Send them to IN to build there guns. We like for are people to have good jobs. We have I64 and I69 here in SW IN a good place to ship from about middle of the 48 states. Also to meager rail roads N&S - E&W also river barges on the OHIO
 
I know that is a good place no doubt. But the key is to resist here to the end. If we give up then how many times can we move. We need to show these anti-liberty anti-gun anti-everything goons that we are here, we are many and we are going to support each other.
Whatever it takes.
