I have always brought my pistols in Stainless Steel. I like the SS and never had a problem with them. I am tempted in buying a 1911 and was thinking about getting away from the SS and going for the orginal parkerized finish. The only think is I know nothing about the care of a Parkerized finish, or for that matter if its a good finish. Any info would be appreciated.
PS please forgive the dumb question but the search feature didnt help much

Keeping the finish lightly oiled on a parkerized gun which seems to absorb the oil generally keeps rust and wear problems to a minimum. Will be no where near as protective of a finish as something like hard chrome though.
