If they make a long slide 10mm Hunter version, my wallet is gonna start sweating.
The trick is, always keep your wallet sweating so it always assumes the worst.

I
It looks like my only 2 gun purchases in 5 years will literally be CZ's.
Looking forward to them expanding this lineup. I have been disappointed in the lack of high capacity SAO handguns. This one shows promise, if they continue to develop the design into something more carry friendly. The steel frame versions could shine in competition, but a 43 oz unloaded weight will cause many to shy away from it for duty or defensive use. I'd like to see an alloy frame version. They can keep the rail on the fullsize, but I would like to see a compact alloy frame version without the dustcover rail for carry, and a full size alloy frame with the dustcover rail for duty use.
Also, a monster full size steel frame gun like that is just begging to be a 10mm Auto. For anything but a gamer gun, 9mm in a 43 oz pistol is like a 4 cylinder engine in a 3/4 ton pickup. But in 10mm Auto? Yeah buddy!
It is interesting and I am looking forward to getting one into my hands. To me is a cheaper Wilson EDCX9 built on a CZ ergonomics and style. This thing is basically the same concept. It is a modern frame with 1911 internals minus the grip safety. The concept is basically the same. Wilson did it in reverse. They released the compact first and then the fullsized.
The price point is different buy almost $1000. That said I like my EDCX9 I do not love it. The gun is well made and super accurate but it is a 1911 like gun it is not a 1911. It does not handle like a 1911. It is a hybrid.I am sure that the DWX is going to be similar with a CZ feel to it. The frame looks very similar to the Shadow 2 in its the shape of its contours.

Ugh...……. that initial rush of people paying silly prices is so annoying.I had some time before a meetig today and stopped at one of telarger LGS' in the Chicago area. They couldn't give me a release date, but their distributor was quoting a price of $2100, $300 above the MSRP. This is info from one LGS, and I'm hoping this won't be the norm as I won't pay more than the MSRP for it.

The EDC X9 was my thougnt as well, if the DWX is going to be selling above the MSRP. I have one EDC X9 and both of my sons love to shoot it. I'd buy a second one so they can eventually each have one.
As nice as the DWX seems to be, I've seen very gently used Wilson EDC X9s on GunBroker for close to that, and new ones for $2500.
At that price I'd take the Wilson for the CS and lifetime support alone.
For $1500? That's where I have some interest.
You can get a used EDC X9 used for $2200 if you like the configurations that people are selling.
To my eyes the DWX has a Shadow 2 like frame contour not the CZ compact frame.
This is exactly what I've been waiting for. FOR OVER A DECADE!
+Finally. A custom CZ75 with a little 1911 trigger.
+ 2011 safety is an interesting addition.
+Front mil spec frame rails for an open class optic mount.
+.40 cal for major power factor.
+proven reliable CZ mags, no more 2011 nightmare mags
+half the price of any 2011 with a similar grip
+proper front FO sight and plain black adjustable rear
Just needs a magwell and mag extensions. I'm assuming those are a bolt on affair from the custom shop.
For you guys that hate colors. Just remove the annodized parts and soak them in oven cleaner until they turn black or gray. Watch carefully, or you'll eat up the aluminum and ruin the part. If you don't want to budget for replacing that part if it dissolves or something, skip the oven cleaner and just spray paint the parts like we've been doing to our carbines for 20 years now.
I was just about to buy and build a G35 for limited division. Now I'm getting this. 2011's are a major PITA compared to competing with a Glock or CZ. And very expensive. This is like a dream.
