This was just sent to me by a friend asking if I had heard anything about it.
I think this must be a joke. Anyone heard any more about it?

Exciting Announcement From TGSCOM
NFA laws have been repealed through a long standing court battle in the 7th US Circuit Court. The president of TGSCOM had sued the federal government on the grounds that the NFA law violated the Second Amendment of the Constitution. After heated and lengthy oral arguments, TGSCOM is now able to sell fully automatic weapons to the general public without tax stamps and the additional background check. The one stipulation to the agreement is that fully automatic rifles will be treated like handguns in that they will require a purchaser of 21 and older, the firearm must be transferred in the state of their residence (same as handguns) and that the buyer must submit to all regulations in the state of their residence.

What this means for you
We will now be adding a limited number of fully automatic firearms to our inventory. They will be sold on a first come first served basis. The benefit is that not only can you own them, but they do not have the $20,000 price tag they normally do.

California residents
Since this ruling is so new, there are no restrictions for California residents. Bet on the fact that they will be up to speed very quickly with reducing your Constitutional rights so take full advantage while you can!

I was in a Wichita pawn shop earlier this afternoon when this older fellow came in wanting the owner to do a "machine gun transfer" for him. He cited that letter and absolutely insisted that the NFA had been repealed! Since the pawn shop owner wasn't a class III dealer anyway he refused. I made the comment that it was an April Fools joke and the guy got somewhat insistant that it wasn't and that he was ordering a full auto Colt M4 carbine for just over $1000 as soon as he could get through on their phone line, stating that both their phone lines and internet website were "Jammed".

When he left in a huff, we all had a good laugh about it. As Bugs Bunny used to say, "What a maroon!"

I told my wife about the email and the first thing she said was " April Fools"
I tried the website just to see how far you could go and it was overloaded, couldn't get through the website

I got that email this morning. My heart started to beat a little faster after the first couple sentences until I remembered what day it was.
The descriptions of the guns are pretty entertaining and you can't beat the price with a burned-out SAW barrel!

That is about the actual cost of those weapons. The price those weapons would go for if the NFA and various taxes and fees were not involved.
Just slightly more than the MSRP on the semi auto variants. A couple percent higher than one without "the switch."
It costs right about $4,000 to replace one to military standards.
The M16 and stock variants (like the M4) only cost around $600 a couple years ago for bulk purchasers though. But MSRP is probably close to advertised.
It is funny if actual select fire weapons not effected by the gun buy panic are cheaper than thier semi auto counterparts.

Actual select fire NFA costs are only high because of the artificaly limited legal market due the the 1986 ban on domestic items and the 1968 ban on foriegn ones.
Blocky full auto sheet metal things like the MAC-10 actualy cost less to produce and were sold for less than most quality regular semi-auto pistols prior to 1986.

Yeah if you browse the MG boards it's depressing to see the prices on post '86 stuff. I thought the SAW was more than that on FAS.org or something.
