Finally, my purposes are not so deadly serious that I need a .22 that can shoot three-eighths inch groups off a bench.
The Marlin should still be a decent shooter - here are a few groups I fired with a 39 using Federal Hi-Vel ammo. Not bad for a lever action. I could probably get it to shoot better with match ammo. But for my uses I consider the accuracy to be more than acceptable with the "cheap" stuff. I hope you enjoy your Marlin!
