Just tested some 110 Nosler Varmageddon rounds from my new 300 BO pistol builds. Here's the details:
10.5" BA barrel 1/7 twist. 37 degrees outside,
New Starline brass, CCI 400 primers
17.5 gr H110 2.025 oal
Avg velocity 2072
SD. 15
18.0 gr H110. 2.025 oal
Avg velocity. 2129
SD. 40
18.5 gr H110. 2.025 oal
Avg velocity. 2195
SD. 18
19.0 gr H110 (book Max). 2.025 oal
Avg velocity. 2257
SD. 16
No signs of high pressure, 19 has very slight flat primers, no cratering, not flat enough to fill the pocket. No ejector marks at all.
Supposedly this round expands down to 1800 fps. All groups were from 25 yds and grouped well averaging about 1.5". Thinking of loading for PD, as the Barnes TAC LE are so high. Anyone else ever tried these loads, and do these numbers look adequate for PD? I've heard of people loading hotter but don't really see the need if these are adequate.
