I am going on a black bear hunt and am wondering what the Gurus/hive mind here suggest is the better round:

Black Hills Ammunition Black Hills Gold .308 Winchester 168 Gr. Barnes Triple Shock Bullet

Black Hills Ammunition Black Hills Gold .308 Winchester 180 Gr. Nosler AccuBond

Triple shock is certainly appropriate [you want tough bullets] .I'd rather have a Nosler Partition than Accubond.Doesn't Winchester have the Partition [I use Win Partition in my 45-70 ]

Coin toss. They are both great bullets, and IMHO you should go with whatever is more accurate for you. I don't think you can really classify one as 'better' than the other. :)

I am not familier with either of the two bullets mentioned, however I am quite familier with the above mentioned Nosler Partition and I am a huge fan I've taken Deer, Elk, and recently my first Black bear which was a 100 yd head shot. I shoot a .270 not a .308 but the bullet penetrated the skull and about 18in into the spine the rear section was totally intact the front gone Pretty much as advertised. I have also used the Partition in .300 Savage which is close to the .308 in performance and it performed quite well on deer.
