in this video, it shows someone claiming to make an improvement on the AK design by making it less reliable (using AR15 magazines, more expensive to make, more difficult to work on, with a top rail held on by FRICTION so it may hold zero till the end of the magazine

every wonder why the inventors of the only rifle id call a legit best of both worlds between the AR-15 and AK rifles (the sig-551) opted towards using AK mags and not STANAG?... its because they wanted an IMPROVEMENT... ever wonder why 9 out of 10 AR15 malfunctions are magazine or feeding related and why manufacturers every year seem to have some new gimmick to improve magazine reliability, and why AKs can use the same mags theyve had for the last 50+ years and still no issues?

so yes.. someone has claimed to make an improvement by adding ar-15 features to the AK that will only work to decrease reliability, increase cost, increase the difficulty in maintainence, and provides no suitable means for attaching optics.. in fact, it seems the goal of this entire thing was to go all-out tacticool so you could add three red dot sights, a night vision, two forward pistol grips, three flashlights, 5 lasers, and maybe a sling swivel somewhere on there

i actually started laughing REALLY hard when i seen this

I have a Kalashnikov--Yugo M70AB2--and see no need to complicate it. Simple is good (besides the military matches at the club require as-issued stock, sights, etc).

Over accessorized AKs remind me of Mossberg's tactical leveraction 94 clone, with adjustable M4 style stock, picatinny rail forearm, etc. Countless real life US lawmen have used plain 1894 Winchesters as patrol rifles because simple is good, especially if you carry a lot but use rarely and then under extreme pressure.
