Last week a friend of my brother gave him 2 tickets. We drove to Atlanta this morning to check out the exhibits. All I can say is that I'm overwhelmed. I've never seen so many different firearms, accessories and hunting gear in my life. It is about a 2 hour drive each way so we only got to spend about 3-4 hours inside. We walked the entire floor, but only stopped and talked to a handful of vendors. There just wasn't time. It was a great opportunity to actually handle quite a few new guns I've only seen photos of though.

I had to send $1600 to Uncle Sam earlier this month and payday isn't until tomorrow. Funds are a little low right now or I could have spent a lot. Glad I went, I'll probably never get another chance. If they ever have one near you I recommend going.

Here is a link showing a map of the floor. You can zoom in to see exactly where each exhibit was.

The convention was held in Orlando back in 2003. That was the best. Just walked the exhibitors hall. That took hours,

Glad you had a good time. It's really hard to know what is new unless you talk to the company reps.

I don't think The NRA will ever have a convention on the west coast. I could be wrong tho. :D

I took the wife, 2 daughters, and one boyfriend and did not know what to expect. It was great experience for all. All the reps were very friendly and eager to help you with any questions. Everyone enjoyed trying out all the firearms. My daughters favorite pastime was collecting hats and stickers. My wife loved getting her picture with Dom Raso, Colion Noir, & Jerry Miculek. It was great experience all around and I believe it built upon a love for all things firearm related in my daughters. 15 acres of guns, related paraphernalia and free swag....what more could you ask for.

I had wondered if someone else who posted here had gone. I know there are a lot of folks here from GA and the southeast and hoped others would chime in. I had no idea what to really expect as well. It is hard to grasp the enormity of it all, 15 acres jam packed with guns and gear is simply huge. Now that I know what to expect I would go again if it is ever someplace within a days drive. I'd get a room and try to spread it out over 2 days next time. It took us 3+ hours just to walk the floor at the exhibit hall. I'd have liked to have had more time to interact with vendors.

Did y'all go to listen to the speakers at the Leadership Forum? I went to the one in Houston and found out who could really speak and who could merely read a speech. Of course, it was kinda like a pep rally for NRA members, but I got to see people in person that I normally would have never seen.

My wife and I went on Sunday. I, too, had never been to one and was surprised at the size. We enjoyed walking around and trying various optics and guns. We bought some t-shirts and holsters and had a chance to talk live with a vendor that I needed that I may never see again.
A lot of walking but all in all, a good day.

I went and was really impressed with the organization and set-up of facilities. I did see my President Trump at the NRA-ILA meeting where all of us stood for the 35 minutes he was there. That was way over the top and the crowd responded in an Electric Manner when the various touch points were presented. Next year you folks in Dallas get to have the fun!

I didn't listen to any speakers. It was a last minute deal for me. A local gun shop owner had 2 tickets and had a conflict that prevented him from going. He gave the tickets to my brother who invited me to go. I only had 24 hours notice. Most of the important speakers were done by Sunday and we decided to just walk the floor.

Didn't realize it was in Dallas next year. That is a 14 hour drive and I have cousins that live there that I could stay with. Hmmm!

I was there Friday due to the NRA's National Firearms Law Seminar held simultaneously with the convention. Some good folks there, sped walked through the Convention Center in about 3 hrs and tried to get home before being stuck in traffic due to Trump's visit. No such luck.

My brother went and said it was a good time. I have a former co-worker who shills for Federal ammunition and Savage firearms. They took a nice picture of all the fun they were having without me. They never seem to have a convention in the pacific northwest.

I wish the NRA had the stones to have their meeting in Los Angeles. It would still fill-up to overcapacity and it would be a great show of support. It'll happen one day -- just not sure when. Worst case I'll have to go to Vegas.

I attended about 14 years ago when it was in Reno, Nevada; couldn't make it when it was in Salt Lake City a few years before that, so it has been out West before.

The problem, if you will, of holding on the West Coast is that the cities big enough to accommodate it are hostily anti-gun and while it would be a nice 'in your face', it's probably not worth the legal hassle and/or hoops to jump through of trying to hold it in Los Angeles or Portland or Seattle.

I went on Saturday, definitely well worth the trip. Comfortable walking shoes were a must because the exhibit hall was huge - took about four hours to explore from end to end. The vendor exhibits were first rate and I gleaned a ton of useful info from many of the company reps. Good job Georgia WCC - good job NRA!
