Nylon 66 stripped rear-sight elevation screw? Shoots way high.

Went out to the range with my beater Nylon 66. No matter what we did to the sights, it kept shooting high.

Another guy my age (mid-20s) walked up and said "I have the exact same type of rifle. Is your rear-sight screw stripped too?". Turns out he was right, the rear-sight elevation screw has no grip, so the sight can't be lowered.

The other fellow was just going to scope his and avoid the whole issue, but is there anything that can be done on these models to make the rear sight adjustable again?

It's a fun gun overall, and I got mine cheap, but for the price a Nylon commands now ($150-200), I'd rather buy an armful of Marlins from the pawnshop. Thanks for any advice,

Are you sure it's stripped? I bought a used one last year and it appeared to be stripped as well. I held it down tightly with my thumb and was able to get the screw to bite the threads. It adjusted up just perfectly after that.

There is a Nylon 66 chat group out there with parts sources listed. Had to reconstruct a rear sight a while back and it took some scrounging to get the correct parts.
