NYS (not NYC) knife carrying laws

I've been searching, without much success, to find any laws related to whether an otherwise legal knife must be carried concealed or open in NYS.

Anyone know?

If it doesn't specify which is legal/illegal in the written law, then either can be done. However, your average person/police officer might look down on an openly carried knife and make a ruckus. My uncle lives in the city and has had perfectly legal Swiss Army knives confiscated by overzealous cops when he takes them out for whatever task he needs them for.
