Hello,

Is there a COF that a civilian can obtain appropriate targets to be practiced at an indoor range (handgun) and outdoor range (long guns...both Shotgun and Rifle)?

After a little more than a year of "basic training" (returning to the sport after an extended absence) and acquisition of a small collection along with appropriate storage and maintenance items, I'd like to focus on proficiency.

The outdoor range I have access to is limited to about 70 yards so I may need to scale some of the targets for equivalency on rifles.

Indoor range has optimum lighting at 7-15-25 yards.

I'm not trying to qualify for military or LEO vocation, just find an objective benchmark to "shoot for" as I seek to develop my shooting skills over time.

Thanks in advance,

Best way to do it would be to find a local group that shoots competitively and join them. You will get an accurate idea of where you're starting from, and as you progress you will be able to see tangible improvements.

Doesn't much matter what sort of competition, either. Just pick whichever incorporates those skills you most want to refine, be it IDPA or Bullseye.
