I've had a few SKS rifles for years and recently sold off all but one. However, I still have a rather large amount of 7.62x39 that I've collected since '94 (I still have some Norinco I never got around to).

I was browsing around seeing what was out there and for whatever reason really liked the looks of the Polish AK offered by Atlantic Firearms (click for link).

First, I acknowledge that I likely paid too much. Outside that, does anyone have any info on this rifle or the parts kits used to slap it together?
I did google a bit but keep coming up with the Ak74 tantal, which this isn't.

I'm not too knowledgeable about AKs and would greatly appreciate info from those here who might be.

I have the AK74 Tantal. The only issue with it is mag well is a bit narrow. Works great with the old orangish bakelite magazines, but the polymer coated mags and others either fit very tight or won't fit. I have plenty of mags that fit so it wasn't an issue. That might have been an issue with the people put it together.

You might try searching around for reviews of the outfit who built it. Hard to say how many of the parts are still Polish.

Atlantic makes a fine rifle and their barrels (4150 Nitride) and very good. The Polish rifles and parts kit are some of the best. It appears you bought a upper level rifle and you will probably be happy with it. I personally wouldn't have spent that much but it looks like a nice rifle.
Check out akfiles.com. There's more information over there than you ever need.

Thanks for the info folks. Carbine85, I just registered there and man are you right, there's plenty of info there.

Dh1633pm, it's on the way but I'll post a range report when I get it.
