Three years of effort by Knife Rights lead to the OK Governor signing into law the Knife Law Reform Bill.

Gov. Fallin Signs Knife Rights' OK Knife Law Reform Bill

Knife Rights' Oklahoma Knife Law Reform bill, SB 1159, was signed into law today by Governor Mary Fallin.

SB 1159 removes dagger, bowie knife, dirk knife and sword cane from the items prohibited from carry in Oklahoma, and finishes the job Knife Rights began last year with the repeal of the ban on carrying switchblade (automatic) knives and with the passage of Knife Law Preemption in Oklahoma

Since Knife law Preemption is already the law in Oklahoma, the new law will will be effective statewide when it goes into effect on Oklahoma Knife Freedom Day on November 1, 2016.

This represents the culmination of three years of effort by Knife Rights in Oklahoma where there are no longer restrictions on ownership and carry of knives (except in the usual restricted areas such as courts, etc.).

Just more proof that we are the one getting it done™ for knife owners in America. Getting it done means having the perseverance to come back to a state's legislature as many times as necessary to finish the job. Expert lobbying on the ground in the legislature is what it takes and why we can now count 21 pro-knife bills passed in 15 states in six years. No other organization can make that claim.

I wish that would happen in CO. I can carry a loaded gun, but not a switchblade. I do not know if any groups are "activist" on those grounds here in Colorado.

When we got our CCW law, the permit (at least in my county) had "Concealed Weapons Permit" in big letters on it which some people (not myself) took to mean any old weapon. This was obviously due to procedures and practices not having been fully developed under the new law.

Nowadays the permit specifically says "Concealed Handgun Permit."

But let's face it. If you can carry a loaded handgun around, why can't you carry "automatic" knives of one sort or another? If it is because knives are cheaper than firearms and therefore more readily accessible to people of low station, that's plain old discrimination, to my rusty old mind.

After all, I take pains to avoid "rumbles."

And yes, I assume this is "gun related activism" in that sense.
