THE CHAIR IS AGAINST THE WALL
So, a couple of weekends ago, I walked into a hole-in-the-wall sporting goods shop in a flyspeck of a town, just to see what they've got.

Under the glass counter was a whole mess of old revolvers. Interestingly enough, most of them were old Colt double-action revolvers in .32-20. (There were a bunch of High Standards as well, but seeing as this is the revolver forum, I'll leave that to another thread.)

So, are these revolvers worth looking into? Some of them were in pretty good shape, but I don't know anything about them. Would it be worth it to pick one up?

Where?

Tell you what, if you post the address of this place, I can guarantee you some folks in the vicinity will be happy to personally visit the place so they can verify the sighting of the UFOs. I mean, the old Colt .32-20 revolvers. :what:

Heck of a cartridge, but very expensive to shoot unless you reload.
You won't find ammo on sale at Wal-Mart!

If you decide to buy, closely inspect the barrels for "rings" or bulges.

A lot of 32-20's got ringed barrels years ago when jacketed high-velocity rifle ammo stuck a jacket or bullet in the barrel due to incomplete powder burn / gas loss at the gap.

I have 2 colt 32-20's. 1 Bisley from 1912 and an Army Special from 1922. The 32-20 was the first cartridge I reloaded. Middle 1950's ammo was $5.30 a box, too much for a preteen farm kid. A cowboy on a ranch up the canyon got me started casting and loading. LUVIT!LUVIT!LUVIT!!!!
