I own two pre -64 , model 94's in .30-30 . I would not even THINK of scope mounting these babies as they are really collectors items. I really like going to the range with a ton of reloads and having myself a .30- 30 time.
My favorite is of course, a scope sighted 336 Marlin as with reloads, it is a super accurate rifle.
My Grandson killed his first four deer with this set up.
Scoped sighted !

I put a nice inexpensive Marbles Bullseye Rear sight on my 94. It is a rear aperture sight that mounts in the dovetail of the barrel where the original sight sits. It is so easy to shoot that rifle now. Brownells sells them for under $20.

To the ones who have hunted in the rain and say no rust.Have you taken the wood off the gun. There are not many Winchesters or Marlins that have been hunted for years that aren't rusted in the places you can't see.

Wild Willy...Yes I do. Before I hunted the Cascades of the Northwest I removed the forearm and stock and applied a thin coat of grease. After the hunting season was over I removed the grease. No rust. Just unfaded bluing.
