Once Upon a Time (30 Carbine Ammo)

I was given these last year.

Cool! No Price Tag?????
Nope. The guy who gave it to me owns a gun store. He said it was leftover stock from when his dad bought the shop. The shop in question has been in business since the early 70’s. I’m guessing it’s from around 1980 or so. Maybe older.

$18.39!
I'm not sure what they go for now.... but I'm pretty sure my components to reload them cost more than those cartridges

Midway shows Winchester White Box (unavailable) at $43.49 ($0.87/ea)
Prices jump around depending on brand, flavor etc.

If buying components today:
RMR Bullet @ 0.135
Primer @ .10
H110 @ .075

$0.31 per round = $15.50 Box

Your mileage and components may vary.

That is another great find.

Your Carbine Box takes the cake.
That wins the prize!!!
I'm not sure what the prize is. I'll have to work on that.

So..... how many boxes of that carbine ammo did you get....????:)
Just one. It was a gimme.

This was gifted to me around this time last year.
45 rounds left in it.
My.... how times have changed.

Walkalong got me motivated to replenish my stash.
While doing inventory, I decided to snap a pic.

When I bought my first two M1 Carbines in May 2020, I bought PPU ammunition from AIM Surplus for $17.95 per 50. That was just three years ago. I've been collecting brass and reloading ever since.

35W

Bummer. I was hoping you had several and could be convinced $$ to let go of one.

Congrats on the great find / gift!!!!
It’s full. If you want just the box you can have it. PM me your address and I’ll send it to you.

The .30 carbine ammo I have was roughly that price when I got my marlin 62 a few years ago. Most of what I have now is Monarch and Prvi so it’s the cheap stuff but it was still about that price.

Cool pictures everyone! 30 Carbine is one of the cartridges that I'm short on. I have plans for me and the Grandson to load a batch this year.

Nice throwback pics. A couple of you may have seen the pic in the other thread I posted of the crap I recently acquired with the old Speer & Hornady bullets and the Accurate #2 with white label.

My kid thinks anything that doesn't have "www.whatever.com" on the label somewhere is vintage. Boxes with mailing addresses are ancient.
