I prefer 2 in the pipes, but I'm a caveman throwback.
The wife has her's cruiser ready, ecept the safety is off. SHe's about as fast as anyone I've seen at putting it to ready, and by the time the BG makes it through the door, past the dogs, down the hall and to the bedroom, he's already wasted alot of time and blood.

Mine's kept cruiser ready, empty chamber, w/big-head safety on. Very little wasted motion sending the handgrip forward as the trigger finger disengages the safety button.
Because the racking of a fresh round of 000 buckshot through my 870 Mk1 was exactly what stopped an attempted home invasion robbery in my old house. I'm so glad Mannlicher was there to witness it and take notes.
