Great read. I'd like to buy a copy if you do end up getting it published. I hate reading books online but I stuck with it because it was so compelling.

Very well done!

I found this to be the most realistic of the SHTF novels that I've read, up there with Lucifer's Hammer. Thank you for the many, many hours of work that you put in to complete it. The world "ends," not with a bang, but with a whimper.

It was also great to see San Antonio used as a location. Far too many of the books in this genre are set in Calif. or the East Coast.

Thanks again,
Dirty Bob

I want to thank everyone for all of the help and encouragement you have given me over the years. I couldn't have finished without it.

I am taking a short break right now, but will be back with more stories. I am also going to fix some of the problems in LO and then look at publishing options.

Thanks again.

David

David - if and when (I hope when!) this gets to being published, as we feel it should, do report back to let us know.

I reckon there would be a huge number of copies already sold if your audience here is anything to go by :)

keep it comin!!

Great stuff David, I just can't wait till the new updates. let us know when 73+ are coming. Your building up quite a following of admirers.

i purposely haven't read a word, I'm waiting to buy the book... any idea when it will be published?

I wouldnt mind seeing more of "Skyfall by Jujen Kai", and thats the understatement of the decade....

And Halffast, your novel (the title story falls far short) was excellent as well.

Great read

Gday- I love it, I have only read the first 10 (in one sitting) but I am hooked.
I am a big reader of this type of fiction and you rank alongside the big names.
Your story flows, the events are believable and your main character isn't Superman (or Chuck Norris).
I can't wait to finish it and I would love to get a hard copy (and not from the printer).
I hope you get published and can produce other works like it.

cheers

....

This is directed at any of you frugal squirrel folks.

I went to the frugal squirrel website to read some of the online fiction I heard about. And they don't have all of "lights out" to see their. (I already read that one though) As we know there are other stories there, which brings me to my question......do you have to join to see the complete story or are they the complete story?

BTW here is the site for anyone who doesn't know what I am talking about.

Also there are other stories on the homepage that are not the ones in the link "halfast" showed us, Those are the ones I speak of.

Fantastic!

Read the whole kit and kaboodle in four days. I'm not much of a reader but I very much enjoyed this. Think I learned a thing or two also.

My whole life stopped once I started reading this. All other concerns took a back seat. Strange.

Enjoyed the ending. Very well done through and through.

I've been trying to read this thing but, neither of the links of the first post work, where can I find it so I can read it?

I think I may have posted this elsewhere, but if not, I'd like to say "Thanks" again. It's inspired me to write my own. Or,finish it anyway.

Now, more importantly: What the heck are you doing on here? Stop wasting time posting and go call publishers!

WOW

I found this thread and started reading Lights Out last night at 11:30. I read until 1:30, then I had to go to bed because I had a test in the morning. I finished it up today. It is a good read, and quite gripping. Having read it yourselves, most of you probably understand how hard it was to stop myself last night. Great work Halffast!!

Question for Travis

Travis,

What self-publishers do you recommend? I have paperwork and calls from 3 so far -- and it seems $6.50 p/paperback to produce (5 1/2 X 8 1/2) the 300 pagers is about the norm.

Thanks.

Very entertaining. :) Unfortunately, very distracting also. Need to get back to work.
