Hey that’s a nice bird! Well now he’s spoiled. Next year I hope he gets busted a few times. Not for spite, but just so he learns it’s not always easy. Makes success that much sweeter. Birds aren’t smart, but they can be really wary. Congrats to your buddy. And good job to you for bringing 2 people into the great sport of turkey hunting.

I hunted five years before I got my first bird. Definitely a learning curve

When guys are sitting, they think they’re holding still enough, but they aren’t. We were in a blind, otherwise the bird would have been gone. The three things guys most often do wrong is (1) they move too much, (2) move too much, and (3) move too much.

He had brought a 16 gauge. Got the bird at maybe 50-55 yards with my SP-10 gauge with Hevi-Shot. The 16 wouldn’t have had a chance
