Extremely Rare Ivory Stocked Henry Deringer Philadelphia Percussion Pistol.--->>> https://www.icollector.com/item.aspx?i=9387463

I recall a Traditions special run of white .45 Derringers that were made for the Sportsman's Guide long ago that are occasionally offered for sale that had a more "elegant" look.
At the time I didn't realize that they were supposed to imitate the original Derringers that were stocked with real ivory.
I believe that the photos below are of one of the white Derringers made for the Sportman's Guide.
It's number 1088 of a 2000 gun limited edition "PHILADELPHIA DERRINGER" made by TRADITIONS.
It was auctioned in 2012 in NEW & UNFIRED condition.
The stock is made to look like imitation ivory, trigger guard is brass and the barrel and lock are nickle plated.
Does anyone else remember when these were first sold and also wanted one?
No, not the real one, the fake one! ;)
It used to take the Sportman's Guide such a long time to sell their special runs of guns that they would end up putting them on sale for a very cheap price, like $99.
That's a lot less than the $19,120 auction price for the original with fees.

Real ivory? I hope Trump lifts the ban.

Ivory had the advantage of not slipping when your hand was bloody. So I was told in the scrimshandling class.

Once it's been seen, it's doubtful that anyone could ever forget the beauty of that ivory Deringer.
It's a classic piece of work.

There's one for sale on eBay right now. The bidding is at $37.00 It is missing it's barrel though.
