outside neck turning tools

I'm looking at neck turning, I'd like some help in picking the right one.

I have a Sinclair. It works but I can't say another is better or not. I'd be interested in entertaining the use of another style.

I bought a reamer for trimming the inside of case necks of 221 Rem cases formed from 222 Reming cases. At least from my set up, it was a less than satisfying experience. If 221 Remington case supply ever dries up, I'll probably revisit it.

I had a Forster Original case trimmer with the outside neck turning attachment and got another outside neck turner; it wasn't a K&M but looked and worked in a similar fashion. I found my new choice uncomfortable and tedious to use and bought another Forster Original case trimmer with the outside neck turning attachment.

If you have a bench rest gun with a tight chamber outside neck turning makes some sense. For the regular gun, it makes less sense. I've done outside neck turning on hundreds of cases and can't say it has made a lot of difference in what I get on paper.

Grumulkin, what your saying makes a lot of since, I've spoken to some of the guys over in Redding Reloading and they said,one of the reason why Redding did't
get into making a neck turning tool is - " If your using good Brass ( lapua,Nosler,etc.) very little chance to cut neck,

I agree, but to add, sometimes when forming cases from other cases, neck tuning is a must. When reducing the diameter of the case neck or shortening the newly formed case into the thicker wall section of the parent case, the wall of the neck will be thicker and need to be trimmed.

Granted, this is for forming wildcats or obsolete cartridges but a tidbit of information to file away for future reference.
