I recently purchased an SP2022 from Topgunsupply.com and a P6 from a local dealer. I finally had the chance today to shoot them and man was it fun.
I would seriously doubt if the P6 I bought had ever been shot. The outside of the gun as well as the internals look brand new. The gun was made in 1980 and it is clear that it sat around for 28 years. Anyway the DA trigger is a little stiff (12 lbs +) but it is smooth. SA I would guess would be between 4-5 lbs and is very smooth. The gun fired 250 rounds this morning without any issue. It expelled shells at a healthy 6 feet. This gun is far more accurate than I can possibly shoot and I have become a fairly good shot. It is as accurate as any Sig I have owned. It is a little snappy with the recoil but very manageable.
My SP2022 is the nicest polymer pistol I have ever held. With a loaded magazine it feels very well balanced. The DA trigger is so smooth and light that I would have bought this gun if it was DAO. The SA has very little travel and is equally as smooth. I think the trigger really makes this gun great. The transition between DA and SA is not as great as other DA/SA guns I have used. I shot this gun very well and it fired 250 rounds with no issues. I shot the P6 a little better, but only marginally so. The guns aims easily and has little recoil.
As we speak there are multiple dealers with good deals on the both the P6 and a German Police Surplus NIB SP2022. I would strongly suggest picking up at least one of these before they evaporate. The P6 is now my center console gun of my truck and the SP2022 will sit on my nightstand and be used for IDPA (if I ever get around to trying IDPA).
