requiring ballistic identifiers on all handguns sold

HB 954: Expands list of those prohibited from having a firearm and upgrades the offense for carrying firearms on streets or public property in Philadelphia to a third-degree felony.

Does that include accidentally showing a concealed weapon?

HB 1198: Creates five-year mandatory sentence for anyone with two prior convictions for a serious violent crime or serious drug trafficking who is then convicted of possessing a firearm, and a 10-year term for those with three or more prior convictions.

That's the only one I lilke.

Make it one prior conviction and it will be worth something.

The only good one is

SB 1281: Provides competitive grants to local governments who add more cops to the street.

But why would that even be necessary with the 20 other bills that would almost entirely outlaw firearms in the state lol.

PA is one of the last vestiges of common sense in the NE... I pray all of these go down in flames or die in subcommittee.

Us PA people are keeping an eye on it and writing all our reps.

What does a gun have to do with anything. Make all punishments more severe, and stop linking guns to punishments. If you have 1 prior for 'a serious violent crime', you shouldn't be out till the arthritis affects your trigger fingers after the second.

Exactly, Recon!

Mayor John Street (Philadephia) and Gov. Ed Rendell (Ex- mayor of Phila) are pushing the anti bills (Rendell tried - unsucessfully - to sue gun companies in the '90s) so during an election year they push their agenda again.
C'mon, PA voters - remember what those billboards along the Delaware said a few years ago - "Welcome to Pennsylvania - America Starts Here"
