I shoot primarily 9mm, and i would like a bit of a technical definition of what the difference between "standard" loads, +p and +p+ 9mm are? all i have heard is that +p and +p+ is more powerful but why? I was looking at some Golddots and they had 124 grain standard and 124 +p, same grain, so what makes on "+p"?

Differences in pressure and therefore , differences in velocity. Standard pressure , SAAMI, is 35,00psi. But sinc e you can'make a silk purse out of a sows ear - if you don't think standard 9mm is enough just go to 357sig, 40s&w or 45acp ,they are all better than the 9mm.

What we call +P the rest of the world calls standard pressure. what we call standard pressure, the rest of the world calls "light target."

9MM +P+ is perfectly safe in modern guns, and is every bit as effective as .40 and .45.
