I'm sorry but it's time for Naifeh to go. His job up there is to do the peoples will not what he feels like. He stopped us from getting restaurant carry. One reason I favor term limits. None the less time to email the guy and ask him to support HB2184

Daps,

Naifeh won't go until the Democrat majority in the State House goes. Period.

While I am an Independent, and have misgivings about the GOP in TN (If you know who Sunquist was, you can figure out why), unless the GOP candidate is flat out bad, I vote GOP in state House races just to help one day see Naifeh gone from power.

Come on folks!! Lets get on the phone and call them! After you call report back here what they said. Lets keep the pressure on them!

Called each and every one today and sent the word out to another dozen folks to do the same.

I called all the numbers. C'mon all you lurkers, don't stand by and let everyone else work for you! It feels awkward at first, but gets much easier.

Passing this information on about HB1907. Plenty more work to do, so keep the momentum up.
Tennessee Governor Signs Vital “Castle Doctrine” Legislation!

Today, Tuesday, May 22, Governor Phil Bredesen (D) signed House Bill 1907, the “Castle Doctrine” self-defense bill, into law.

HB 1907, sponsored by State Representative Randy Rinks (D-71), would allow an individual to use deadly force to protect him or herself wherever they have a legal right to be. The bill also provides civil immunity for those who defend themselves from criminal attack.

We would also like to recognize and thank State Senators Doug Jackson (D-25) and Paul Stanley (R-31) for sponsoring the Senate version of this legislation.

Please contact the Governor’s office at (615) 741-2001 and your State Legislator at (615) 741-3511 and thank him or her for defending our Second Amendment right to self-defense.

Guys comments on HB1907 Castle Doctrine.
How do you guys feel about it? I know the TFA opposes it as written.

Exactly what does this bill give us that we didnt have before other that immunity for civil litgation.

Does this bill allow one to protect their vehicles if they see someone breaking into it or am I thinking about some other bill or state

Here is what I sent

Hello,

My name is Gerald McLawhorn, I live in Athens, Tn. I want to request that you support for HB 2184, I also want to request that you continue to work in favor of our rights and help to get this bill up for a vote and ultimate passage. I am sure you feel our rights as Tennesseans are extremely important.

Also, On the matter of gun "restrictions" I ask that you consider the "restaurant bill" while I understand not carrying in a "bar" I see no reason why myself as a law abiding citizen can't go out and enjoy a meal with my family with out feeling like a victim. With all the criminals that carry where they can and will (after all they don't care about the laws), I feel that the so called "gun free zones" need to be relabeled "free victim zones"

Again, Thanks for your support of HB 2184, please do all you can to help in passage of this bill.

Sincerely,

I got 1 reply back so far,

I will NEVER vote to weaken our right to defend ourselves. Thanks for the email.

Rep. Judd Matheny

I have edited my message to reflect that I'm not sure of what is going on with this situation. I was under the impression that Mr. Bass was pro gun and was concerned with restoring our rights that have been removed or neglected through stupid laws. I have, since received 2 more "unread email" notices. I am beginning to wonder if we didn't basically blow their email servers up?

Both bills were killed. Not exactly a big shocker, thank you Democratic House Speaker Naifeh and his cronies.

Correction.

0132 is dead for this session. It will be back next year. Likely for the same game.

2184 however, was re-referred, and is back alive.
