Parker-Hale "JC Penney" .270 Rifle? Help!

I have been offered a Parker-Hale rifle that also has JC Penney stamped into the barrel. I believe it is a Model 1100? I really don't know anything about Parker-Hale so any help would also be appreciated. I also really can't figure out much of a price. They seem to be around the $400-$500 mark but I can't find anything definite. Thanks!

Good rifles worth every penny.

Sometimes looking on Gunbroker can give you an idea of what they are running on price.

Buy that rifle as cheap as you can, but buy it.

My father owned a couple of Parker Hales of similar vintage and they were good, solid rifles made on quality commercial made Mauser type actions. I don't think you could buy a quality commercial Mauser type action for $400-$500 anymore

Parker Hale's were high grade commercial Mausers that had been finished in England. They are a good solid rifle of high quality.

The lady that has it sent me these pictures earlier this evening. It appears to have surface rust in some other pictures. I'm going to meet her tomorrow and see what it looks like. I only have $275 in the gun I will be trading. So, if it's in decent shape I will probably bring it home. I'm a sucker for a good looking rifle
