I’ve decided to conduct the Unarmed Self-Defense class one more time in Atlanta before year end. It will be December 27-28, 2003 at the Holiday Inn Select in Norcross which is at the corner of Holcomb Bridge and Peachtree Industrial. This might make a great holiday present for you or someone you care about. I realize that many people may be out of town due to the time period so if you are interested in attending, please let me know as soon as possible so I can make other arrangements if there isn’t enough interest. Here is the description and details:
This course is based on the unarmed combatives methods taught to U.S. Special Forces and the techniques were selected to provide a simple yet effective method of learning unarmed self-defense. The goal of this course is to give you the ability to stun and disable an attacker of greater size and strength than yourself and escape to safety. This course is an excellent choice for those who are unwilling or unable to carry a firearm as well as those who wish to have a less lethal alternative to firearms.
You will learn incident avoidance and prevention, mindset, striking principles and target selection, defense against punches, kicks, holds, grabs, bear hug and chokes. Also included are ground-fighting and defense against multiple attackers. You will progress from performing techniques "in the air" or against striking bags to doing them at full force against a padded attacker. By experiencing a "realistic assault", you will be better prepared to effectively handle a real confrontation because you'll know what to expect and have confidence in your ability to deal with it.
The tuition for this 20 hour course is $250 per person or $437.50 for two signing up together. Course attire is long sleeve shirt and pants with comfortable shoes. Soft elbow/knee pads are optional.
Pre-registration is required and a 50% deposit, payable by check, cash or credit card (Visa/MC/Amex) will reserve your spot.
