I have the chance to trade a nice knife for a Pentax Lightseeker II in 4-16x44. I don't why he says it's a Lightseeker "II", but that is what he says it is, I could not find out anything about the II online.

I have read up on Pentax, and it appears they are affiliated (how much depends on where you read) with Burris. I read that some of the Lightseeker line is re-labeled Burris scopes, while others are really nice. Is the scope in question one of the nicer ones? I will be putting this on my deer rifle (7mm-08 Savage) which already has a 3-9x40 Nikon Buckmaster on it. How do these two scopes compare?

Thank you,
Michael McGovern

The Lightseeker II is much better optically than a FFII, it's like comparing a Burris Euro Diamond to the FFII. Lightseeker II models have better coatings than the original Lightseekers, but I think that's about the only difference.

And by the way I like the FFII for the money, I have several in 3-9 and 4.5-14.

So if I was able to trade a $175 knife for one, I should jump on that like a bucket of chips spilled at the casino.
