I was able to drop by and visit my friends at the Spyderco booth this afternoon. Gayle Bradley and Ed Schempp were both there, and I had a chance to meet and talk to Phil Wilson. Phil designed a highly anticipated fixed blade that came out in 2012.

Derek, Marin and I all found the South Fork to feel, well, incredible, despite our differently sized hands. Both Derek and Marin tend to be picky about knives, and they both really appreciated the South Fork. The interview with Phil is posted here.

Thanks. Phil seems like a really great guy, and the South Fork absolutely feels like a top-end custom.

Glad it was useful to you. :) I learned a lot, too. And Phil has a son about my age, who trains in the same martial arts system.

Off topic, but which martial arts system? I am in my fifth month of Escrima.
Have a Wing Chun dummy on its way as we have moved more to hands and knives. Should be a good training tool.
Apologize for the drift.

Jim
