Hey guys, I just picked up my first 45 ACP. A GLOCK 21 GEN 4! Brand new! Anyway, this is not my first glock, however it is my first gen 4. Everything looks great, I just have a few questions for you folks who are way more experienced than I am. When I did the field strip of the weapon everything looks fine, except I did notice to very very slight wear marks where are Glocks can typically peen. I also noticed some slight marks on the underside of the barrel, again these marks are very very slight I was just wondering if they are from the new recoil spring? I plan on shooting the hell out of it this weekend, and I will let you know how everything goes. Thanks!

I have similar marks on all of my Gen4 Glocks (17, 19, 20, and 26). I wouldn't worry, just shoot a lot

Normal wear, BTW, if you have large hands, I suggest using one of the beavertail backstraps on the Gen4 21. That wide slide on the 21 had a nasty habit of filleting the base of the thumb of my shooting hand before I started using the large BT backstrap. Those rear slide serrations go all the way to thre edge of the slide, and they would draw blood at the base of my right thumb. And my own Gen4 21 shoots every type of factory ammo, I'll bet you will enjoy shooting yours!

I wouldn't worry about those marks. My G19 has similar ones. But it still shoots like a dream. Congrats on that G21 by the way. I've been toying with the idea myself.

Good choice!

My Gen 4 G21 turned me from a Glock hater to a Glock.... well most of my semi-autos are Glocks now.

Put a few hundred rounds through it and those will be far overshadowed by normal usage "beauty marks". And if it spends time going in and out of a holster, you'll have external wear marks too.

There's an old saying about "not choking and not toking". In similar fashion if it's not wearing, it's not working.
