Picking up an Arisaka bayonet today.

Stopped off at the local Pawn Shop on my way home from work today and saw a bayonet in the case.
This is the pawn shop that I go to the most and know the owner very well. I’m allowed to go behind the counter when ever and I help out from time to time.
So I went behind the counter, got the key and got the bayonet out of the case. It was a little rough, but was priced at $19.99.
I helped a customer with questions about AR15’s before walking to the front to pay for the bayonet. The owner was at the counter and as I handed him my debit card he said “Just put that away”. He told me that I could have the bayonet for helping him the other day with an SKS that wasn’t feeding.
I told him thank you.
Well, here’s what I got.

It a Matsushita Kinzoku KK Arsenal manufacturer.



There’s a little pitting on the edge of the blade.


It will go good with the dirty Type 99 that I bought at the same shop a few years ago. Now I need to find the time to clean both of them up.

I love shooting my type 38, 6.5x50. I also found a bayonet at an auction but it was a little more than you paid, I enjoy taking my old milsurps with installed bayonets to the range,

Nice! This reminds to to look for one to complete dad's rifle that he brought back from his WWII tour. The bayonet was stolen from his basement and he was pretty disappointed that it was an incomplete set.

I've picked up several Type 30 training bayonets to go with my Japanese and Type I rifles. No danger of cut fingers, they look good enough and they're much cheaper. Also, I appreciate that they are rather unlikely to have harmed anyone.
