So I have an Uberti 1851 navy with the round trigger guard. But I really love the looks of the squareback. Thing is noone carries the Uberti triggerguards as a replacement seeing as Uberti hasn't made a squareback version in a while now.
Pietta triggerguards do seem to be available though so I'm just curious if they can interchange.

Anyone that has both makes mind seeing if they are close? As I understand all the 1851, 1860, and 1861 models use the same triggerguard so if you have any of them from both manufacturers to do a side by side comparison, I'd appreciate it. I don't mind a bit of fitting and filing to make it fit. As long as it's actually doable.

Check with these folks. They are likely to know.

I speculate that switching major parts between different makes probably won't work because screw hole positions may not be exactly the same.

Another option:

They offer unfinished cast brass trigger guards, among others. These can be fitted to most any frame.

Taylors lists the brass square back trigger guard for $35.00.

And, the 1860 trigger guard is not the same as the 1851/61 trigger guard. It is about 1/4 inch longer.

You might get lucky using a Pietta trigger guard on a Uberti frame; but, I wouldn't count on it.

Yeah, I ordered from Taylors. They just emailed me saying they're out of stock.
Dixie doesn't seem to carry them either.

VTI has some triggerguards. But they don't list any square backs. Guess I'll give em a call and ask.
