Ive been trying to decide how I want to pillar bed and glass bed my action. The boyds stock I am getting will keep costs down (Im already way over my budget, but I expected as much from warnings given to me previously), so thats why Im trying to figure the best way to do this. For those that dont know, Boyds is laminate.
McMillian has an interesting technique to do this. Rather than explain, Here it is.
The pillars do not touch the action, but rather have a very thin layer of bedding compound between he pillar and action to relieve any stress points. Maybe its getting too picky to do that? Im using devcon 10110 so as far as I know, its plenty strong for the application.
Ive never bedded an action before so Im more apt to listen to you all then base my job off one article that only skims the surface (even though i have a good depth of knowledge on how it is traditionally done).
