It's all automated. I just did it and it literally takes less than a minute. I don't know if they record area codes to only accept votes from Cook County residents but it's worth it for everyone to try anyway.

Please take a second to call Todd Stroger's office and petition against the gun ban!!!!

Please do this now...what do have to lose (other than your guns)? I
did it and it only took a minute and it is FULLY AUTOMATED!!!! AND EASY.

This takes literally seconds. It only took about 15 SECONDS to punch in my vote.

CALL 1-312 -603-6400.

Press 1, then option 1, and then VOTE AGAINST THE GUN BAN (OPTION 2)

You can also vote against the sales tax too if you live in Crook Co.

Dialing *67 before placing the call will keep the folks running the poll from figuring out who you are, and whether or not you live in their happy little county.

Thanks for the number. I live in Cook, and I think it's important for politicians to see how their decisions upset people who don't even have anything to do with their county or state.

Just playing devil's advocate here

Why is it that when we vote twice on things like this, it's all fun and games, but if we hear about politicians doing it, or otherwise fiddling with the numbers, it's an outrage?

Don't get me wrong, I voted NO just like the rest of ya'll - but why is it OK for us to do something like that, when it would cause a firestorm if they did it to us?

Just my two cents, but fair is fair. If you want to vote and help the folks in IL out, go to it. But cheating and voting multiple times doesn't seem like good form to me.

Because this is to only voice an opinion whereas whatever they are doing usually has some significance. Plus, our "leaders" should be held to higher standards if the public is placing their trust in them.

But by voting multiple times, we're still playing the same type of game - essentially stuffing the ballot box of public opinion. While that may be ok to you, it isn't to me. I'd rather that we played fair, and didn't sink to their level while rationalizing it away as "well, it's ok because it's not a vote, just an opinion."

Basically, my point is this - if we expect the system to change, and people in positions of power to play fair, we must do the same and present our side of the argument honestly. Otherwise what's the point?
