I inherited this .410 around 1975 as well as a Ruger 10/22 from an Uncle who passed away long before his time.

Can anyone tell me what it is? (Other than a .410 of course) The only markings are International Firearms corp.

Any help is appreciated.

BTW - It is a very simple gun, it twists open sideways and there is a lever to eject your spent shell.

It shoots great, but since it is so light it kicks like a little B*T$$. It actually kicks harder than my Beretta 391 12 gauge!!

I sure hope somoene recognizes it and can tell me what it is.....

Thanks for looking.

It is an FIE Bronco. There is an article about it on page 158 of the 1997 Gun Digest.

It's a fun gun to shoot, but it kicks like heck allright. My J.C. Higgins 12 gauge kicks less than that little thing.

Thanks a lot to both of you.... I like it a lot and its nice that I now know exactly what it is......

There was also a .22 Bronco rifle and a .22/.410 over and under.
I have a .22 and .410. The .410 usually doesn't seem to kick that much to me. Every now and then though, I don't mount it right and it socks me.

Yes,I concur,that is a Bronco.I owned one in .410 and one in .22 LR.I purchased them both new in 1974 fo $20.00 each.Wished I'd have kept them.tom.

$20!! You've got to be kidding...Wow, that was cheap, even back then. Where were they imported from? Does anyone know?

Writer Pete Dickey designed the guns and they were produced in the U.S. (I've heard he also designed the small Star .45 pistol called the PD. )

Bauer sold them for a while also. The .22/.410 was called the Bauer "Rabbit."

Shotgun News also had an article on them a couple years ago.

Firearms International introduced the Bronco in 1967. It was made at a factory in Accokeek, Md.

The original price in 1967 was $9.95 for the .22RF version. The price went up some in 1968 with the requirement of serial numbers (68 gun control act). Apparently putting the serial numbers on was the most expensive part of manufacturing. Retail price in 1969 was $14.95

Garcia took over Firearms International in 1970

These were made in both solid frames and takedowns. They were also made in 22 magnum and .410 . In 1975 a limited quantity of .22 - .410's were produced.
