I have a PM9 that I've had for about a year. The mag never would drop freely. It would eject about 1/2" and stick and would have to be pulled out by support hand. I have 4 mags (2 7rd, 2 6rd) and it happens with all. This, of course, does not help in facilitating a fast reload.

I contacted Kahr and sent the gun in with an explicit description of the problem. I recieved it back about 10 days later with the problem still present. I contacted Kahr again, sent in again, and this time the problem was resolved. They took away some material from the mag well (there are 2 raised ridges on each side) that allows the mag to drop freely now.

However, now the loaded mag, when inserted with the slide locked open, has vertical play of about 1/8". It never did this before. Once the slide locks forward and loads a round into the chamber, there is no play. Could this be a potential problem? Thanks for any advice.

Sorry to here about the results from Kahr.
I have read of others with this problem and the resulting fix from Kahr was roughly done.

Others have fixed it using thin sticky-back sandpaper stuck to a magazine and working it in and out of the frame.

First, if the mag falls halfway freely, then hangs up, the mag is tapered and bigger at the top.
This can be fixed, with sanding/filing the high spots on the mag being the safest method, rather than trying to squeese a portion of the mag.
That said, the last thing I would do is modify the gun to fix a mag problem.

I know this is too late for you but may help others.
