Hello all,
I'm new here (first post). I want to use a pocket holster in the front pocket, pleated docker style pants mostly. I've also posted this to the holsters forum at www.pistolsmith.com
1. How thick are leather vs kydex vs nylon holsters?
I'm small, 5'6" and 150lbs so I think the smaller the bulge in my pocket the better. I do like the look and feel of leather, but I'll really try to let functionality take precedence here.
2. In the area I live in (CA), I absolutely cannot risk any chance of the gun sliding out of the holster into plain view, especially while sitting or driving with coworkers. So for me, better gun retention at a slight expense of draw speed is a compromise I am willing to make.
I would guess that the cheaper holsters not specifically molded to the gun, such as Uncle Mikes, DeSantis Nemesis, etc, would not retain the gun as securely as a custom leather holster. I would also think that the leather holster would stretch and loosen over time. Any thoughts?
Regards
