The latest poll from Quinnipiac University indicates that a majority of Americans disapprove of the president’s handling of gun-control policy by a margin of 52 to 41 percent.

My two pence on this are...
1) It's a poll, and you should only take so much away from a poll.

2) There is ambiguity over why they disapprove. Do they disapprove of the concept of more controls? Or did they disapprove of the methods Obama used? Maybe they disapprove of the fact that he failed.

Still, yet another proverbial bullet against that 90% stat that's been well and truly shot up by now.

Of interest is this paragraph in the poll breakdown document itself:
By small margins, voters trust Democrats on Capitol Hill more than Republicans to
handle health care, while they prefer the Republicans on the budget deficit and gun policy, and
they see the two about the same on the economy and immigration

There is ambiguity over why they disapprove.
Agreed. There should be 100% disapproval over his 'handling of gun-control policy'; the pro-gun crown will disapprove of his attempts at gun control, the anti-gun crowd will disapprove of his failure at gun control.

I heard these poll results a few days ago and couldn't understand what at all could be garnered from it. It's like the poll question, "Are you satisfied with the current direction of the country?". The poll results of such ambiguous questions are useless.

I disapprove of his handling of guns. He should be prohibited from touching the guns at Camp David when he is vacationing there. Maybe even an amendment to the constitution.
