Population, Guns, and Murders

This article begins with statistics concerning worldwide terrorism deaths but ends with U.S. population and murder rate. As the gun ownership rate has grown the murder rate has dropped, which puts a monkey wrench in the argument that more guns equal more crime. The surprising statistic to me was the growth in U.S. population since 1995. That is not sustainable without causing a deterioration in the average quality of life in this country in my opinion.

Well, before the nanoseconds where they shut this down. IMHO the 'gun problem' or 'mass murder' problem has nothing to do with guns but due to a lack of respect for people that has grown in our culture. In laboratory studies, similar behavior is shown by lab rats when they become overcrowded.

An armed society is a polite society ...
 
Well, here’s the close.

As I do it, you might ponder the fictional society where the Heinlein quote came from. It was a nasty genetically determined dictatorship.
