She should get an A+!! And somebody should get an A+ for polishing the metal.

For a class?

Heck, professor may have a heart attack, and then call the police for 'terroristic threats'.

There was a similar theme with a cannon on a flag used during the American Revolution.
I think it said "come and take it". There is also a modern version of that flag that is identical except it has an AR rather than a cannon.

Actually, for a class project I'd get a little old lady holding the gun - less "threatening" to bureaucrats.

If you could somehow work in a line like "Who do you think you are - Hitler?" or "I didn't give mine up to Hitler, and I won't give it up to you!" it might work well, too.

What message is she trying to communicate? That gun people are scary and threatening? It seems like it would polarize people: pro-2A and anti-2A people will get riled up and everybody else will be turned off. I doubt it would get anyone on our side who isn't there already.

Interesting as I do not get that from the image. I don't see it as trying to get anyone to "our side" but more as making a firm statement. The statement being I will not give up my guns or more important my rights easily. If you want my guns, understand I am willing to fight for them, up to and including the use of deadly force. I see the image itself done in very good taste and delivering a message.

Great! Submit it! Submit it!

I'm wondering how our great zero- [STRIKE]tolerance[/STRIKE] intelligence, [STRIKE]educational[/STRIKE] indoctrinational system will take it!

PS. Check the spelling of "amendment." See, we "grammar Nazis" are nice to have around sometimes. :)

She was quick to make sure I knew it was MY fault for not checking it thoroughly enough. :)

For those of you who think it's scary or offensive, haters gonna hate. I think it is at least outweighed by the image of who shooters really are, Corey is a great role model and example.

(Here's the fixed one.)

Do you have rights to distribute the original photograph? Seems like it is one thing to use it in a class project and another to post it on the internet telling people to spread it around. Out of simple courtesy, it seems like someone one would want to clear that would with Ms. Cogdell and the SAF before posting it.

Call me slow on the uptake. I initially had this all wrong. My initial thinking was that mljdeckard's (the original poster) wife was going to create a similar poster using herself. A simple Google will bring up dozens of images of Corey Cogdell in various gun poses and shooting poses including the image that was used. Call me dumb but I assumed the initial posted image was unaltered.

Without the permission of whoever owns that image I really don't know if it would be a good idea to publish it in any way altered or for that matter in it's original state. I am not a lawyer and do not play one on TV but this could have sour results. I would be looking for another model and create your own image from scratch. Again, not an attorney and don't know.

Whew! I just assumed there was a model release and it was OK, per OP's thread title, to spread it far and wide. I used to carry a pad of releases around in my camera bag.

I captured that image for distribution among friends, but who knows where it would have gone after that?

I will delete it from my pic folder.
