Powder Cop on LCT

Double charges are one thing to watch out for, but the other is the possibility that your measure threw no charge or a partial charge.
Eyeballs work well for that, if positioned to really work the press. The problem comes when the case size and shape and the powder volume in the case combine to make it very difficult to impossible to see the powder.

I wonder if the problem is not standing up to load. The LCT is as easy to ensure powder charge as many others, because everything is up front, one operation at a time.

I have been using an inexpensive Pro AutoDisk for at least 12 years mounted on a LCT press and it has never thrown a light charge or a squib load. Even though Lee equipment is inexpensive it's reliable and it works.

I used the Deluxe Autodisk for years and I can say the same, but in the words of Reagan, "Trust, but verify".

Another that has been using both the Auto Disk and the Auto Drum. Have never had a miscue with the Disk. The Drum broke twice which Lee repaired but even those were not such that they would have slipped by. It was very obvious there was a problem. But to be fair after the last repair I have been using it regularly w/o any incident.

I am also never in such a hurry that I do not take the time and visually check every powder drop.

The Auto Disk PRO version is what was mentioned. I just trashed two of the box shaped hoppers this afternoon, because both jammed up and failed to charge repeatedly when using SR4756, which is flaky but not what I would call coarse. They also leaked badly with fine powders like my AA#9. The cylindrical hopper of the PRO with its polymer wiper on the bottom works well for me.

The Pro and the regular Disk are basically the same. The Pro uses a different hopper and mount and also used the Wiper, otherwise they are the same. I use the Auto Disk with AA#2, AA#5 and Ramshot Silhouette which are all very fine grain ball powders and also use them on my Pro1000 which is very susceptible to loose powder getting into the priming chute and I get no leakage. My point was that I have never experience any bridging while using the Disk measure.

BTW I have 3 Auto Disk measures, 1 Pro, one regular which has been upgraded and 1 that is still original with the square hopper and it has the Micro bar in it so I don't need to keep removing the hopper.

I just found out recently that there was an upgrade kit for the autodisk to the Pro. I dug my two deluxe models out and upgraded them and I will be testing one out the next time I load 9mm. That frees up a Dillon measure which I will use for .223.

I don't have an easy time looking down into the shell to verify powder drop while using my Lee Classic Turret press, even with a light shining into it.
Since it's a 4-hole turret, are any of you using a powder cop die after the drop on your LCT?
I use one on my Hornady LCL press. They work great. All you need to do is really keep an eye on the very first load and verify that one and mark on the tube on the powder cop where that load met the die and then you just make sure the rest of the loads are at the mark on the tube
