:barf: I called my local suply shop because I was thinking of droping some Christmas bonus cash on more powder. I buy AA#2 at $10/pound for 5+ pounds (or use to) called today to have some set aside and it was $20/pound I'm gonna be sick:barf:

yeah, hate to tell you but i only know of one powder you can buy at $10/lb now

Eric - the current wholesale price of #2 is ~$80 for the 5lb container. So, you will need a time machine to buy it for $10/lb, as krochus says.

Have you priced primers lately? My wholesale price just went to $22.50/thou for CCI. Federal primers are unavailable, due to ATK's filling military contracts.

All of the reloading components have had a tremendous price increase in the last 2 years. Ammo prices more than doubled as well.

Most of the single pound containers are running $26-$28 here in AZ. I understand it is going up 30% after the First.

I recently bought 20 lbs of powder and right around 15,000/16,000 primers. I'm hoping that holds me over until the war winds down and all the surplus is available again. I'm a little light on bullets with only 4,400 bullets for the 38/357, 900 for the 9mm, 500 for the .45 Auto and only 450 in 30 Cal. I could use more bullets but good deals are getting very hard to find.

I'm still able to buy W231 for $15.50 a lb ($62/4lb can) and 1K Winchester WSP fir $20.95 at a recent gun show.

I plan on getting me some primers and powder this week. As of now I can get Titegroup for $14 a lb and Magtech primers for $20 per 1000...Winchester primers for $22 per 1000......both Lg pistol.

Grandpa Shooter, het thee to Sportsman's Warehouse, Accurate is stillunder $16 a pound. I will get more on Jan 4th, will post what the "new" price is.

I just had to go to six different gun stores to find Winchester LR primers. It wasn't the price as much as no one had them. CCI were the only thing available. I just spent some money on ammo today and will again later this week.
Maybe I should invest in a few pounds of powder too...

Recently (this month) I purchased some powder at $18 a pound. There was a long line. Looks like guys are hording the stuff and pushing the prices up.

Hmmm...powder is only about $16/$17/lb here even at the stores where the ammo is way overpriced.

I've seen the usual powders go up to $25 a pound at one store, at another it is $18 a pound, and the Titegroup I use is still out there for $96 for 8 lbs.

I have seen Winchester primers for $36.99 a thousand. Now that's a shocker. That's like triple price they were a couple years ago.

I live 150 miles from anything bigger than a pawn/sporting goods/reloading ma and pa store. The only time I am in the "big city" is to go to the VA for medical treatment. As you can imagine, that is not a fun trip.

My shop in in Norfolk Va I guess they had a large back stock they were selling down the single 1 lb cans were 12.95 and they gave a discount for 5+ pounds now a 1 pound can is running 19.99 with no mure bulk discounts it wasnt packaged in a 5 pound can it was 5 individual cans

powder and primers

i recently 8 lbs of bullseye for $99, and 5000 lg pistol primers for $110.

Daaaam! Most powders at my supplier are still below $20/lb. Even VV is in the $22-$23 range.

My dad bought me an 8lb keg of Unique for Christmas, paid $96 + tax = $104, which is $13 per pound. I'm now sitting on 10 lbs of this stuff.:D

I'd suggest you find a different store, or switch powders.

$37 a thousand for primers is freaking nuts!
Mine cose $26/K the other day and the shop owner commented how expensive that was.

Last gun show I bought winchester small pistol primers for $21.95/1000, hopefully they haven't gone up, next gun show is Jan '08, I'll be buying more, guarantee'd.
