I'm still figuring out how to set up my Hornady LNL workspace and couldn't figure out where to put the scale. The mounting holes for the case feeder gave me an idea. I threw this together with some scrap stuff sitting around and gave it a quick rattle can job.

There is an extra piece glued on top of the oak that keeps the scale from being knocked off (unless you really tried).

If the scale is mounted to the press, it will be exposed to a lot of extra vibration. I mount my scale(s) on the wall, separate from the bench top.
I had thought about trying to make a bench where there front has a "U" shape so the press is mounted closer to the wall and I have bench space at both sides—say a 32" deep bench with a "notch" to maybe 24".

Mine is located away from the bench in the closet where it is away from vibration or wind and it can stay in the same spot all the time. If the A/C vent is blowing I can use the scale with the doors almost closed blocking moving air currents. I used to use it on the bench, but it was problematic.

Magoo:
Mounting your single beam balance on your press as you have done will cause vibration to completely destroy your balance's knife edges in a very short time. Not a good idea in my opnion, and it's not necessary either.

Thanks for the thoughts guys. Back to the scrap pile it goes.

Magoo:
Suspend a small shelf from that cabinet, directly behind where the scale is in your picture.
Once I level the scale I tape it to it's shelf with blue painter's tape to keep it from moving if bumped.
YMMV

I'm headed down to the basement in a while to do just that Tilos. I looked at it earlier and it will still be a convenient reach and eye elevation from my stool will work out too. I'll salvage the piece of oak it's sitting on as it sits very securely on there.

another try

Again, thanks for the input guys. I'm glad I posted it.

A couple of cuts, bend, hammer, drill, screw...

Better?

It is level (so says the bubble) though it doesn't really look it in the pic. It will be stored in a tupperware- beam off of the base- in the cabinet above when not in use.

Thanks Tilos.

And another thanks to the folks willing to step up and tell me my original idea was a bad idea.
