Has anyone talked to these folks lately? I placed an order in October and was given a 2 to 3 week shipment by Mark himself. Since February they've been unwilling to respond to any emails requesting some idea of schedule. Since the beginning of the year Precision's website has touted a 5-6 week delivery if you're willing to pay a premium. I'm wondering if they've put my upper on hold (per Precision's policy I paid 100% at time of order) so as to build uppers at a premium.

My frustration is growing as the 6.5 Grendel website has a member touting his Precision upper that was ordered mid-December. I understand the craziness of the industry, but my upper was due to ship more than 2 weeks prior to Sandy Hook.

Is there a phone number? Did you pay with credit card? One way or another, I would let them know you will dispute the charge. If you paid some other way, you may want to find a lawyer who will send them a nasty gram.

Finally received a response and I'm trying to digest the information without emotional involvement. Mark said that there's quite a backlog, they're very busy, and people are lining up to give Precision 100% down with a 6-8 month wait. Precision has moved into a new facility and evidently that's one of the reasons they are backlogged.

Mark did tell me he's not building my particular upper for anyone that has not placed an order prior to Nov 30 and the 5-6 week option does not apply in my case.

I was still not given any clue as to when I can expect shipment. Mark did offer to refund my money if I would like to go elsewhere but as I've already waited 4 months...

I got a response, which I guess is good but I still have no idea when they'll ship my upper which is the information I've been asking for since early February. It was pretty obvious from the email response that they felt I was being an unreasonable jerk for asking when I could expect shipment. To quote from my email "I am not demanding immediate shipment but would like a response to my request for a realistic time frame of when I can expect my upper."

I believe that's a reasonable request given the November shipment that was originally promised.

It's a seller's market now (especially for high-quality builders such as Precision) so I will continue to wait. I have copies of all correspondence if there should be a problem down the road.

Now you know that this is somebody who lacks integrity.
If you paid in full and you had a November delivery date his priority should have been to get yours built before the others.
It is apparent that those paying a premium to go to the front of the line only started doing so after Sandy Hook.
Good luck with your wait.

I can just see it now. People paying an additional '"super duper extra" to jump the line on those who paid extra.

Precision Firearms well not stay in business long with that kind of policy. First come, first serve. These threads stay on search engines forever. People well read about this and most well choose to do business with someone else.

I would just get my money back...you waited 4 months, are you prepared to wait another 4, 6....8???

I truly believe they're overwhelmed with work. While I'm very frustrated about the delays, Precision has been up front about delays for some time. When things got behind they offered full refunds to anybody that wanted one. I choose to remain in line thinking my upper would be coming soon. Soon is just taking much longer than I thought it would. They insist they build in the order in which payment was made. My Bartlein barrel seems to be the holdup.

Had I been given a delivery of several months when I placed the order I would have gone elsewhere as decent uppers were available from several sources. Since Sandy Hook, however, those sources have become just as busy as Precision.

Frustrated or not, I'm sure my upper will eventually get here and the one thing I am very confident of is that it will be done right.
