Hey, at least its only a toilet and not a Porta Potty. If it happens there, its gonna get REAL ugly, and your hand will look like youre a Smurf when you come out, and there will be no denying it happened.

Nitrile gloves and a "zip-lock" bag. Turn the bag inside out, use it to pick up the gun. Turn the bag right side out again, so the gun is now in the bag. Zip it shut. Toss gloves. Wash your hands. Clean the gun when you get home. Swap the ammo.

I keep a can of WD40 in my Truck just in case I go overboard fishing had a boating accident a few years ago anyway WD40 will displace water as son as you can dry off use compressed air and oil

Best quote from you yet......:p
Real funny! Hey, I like to talk and very passionate about shooting and guns. I take it your not a fan of mine? No skin of my butt cheeks! :) there is always the ignore button.

My original quote was asking how does a responsible ccw holder drop a firearm into a troilet or porta Jon in the first place. I figured it would start a crap storm, so decided to take the high road and delete.

No, I just meant you do tend to go on sometimes. I would think it would star more of a crap shoot......

Well I apologize then! Yeah, I do get fired up. You got me there. But hey without keeping things going we wouldn’t have a forum.

You even turned @LoonWulf against me. Lol.

A well-used porta-potty would be much funnier. At least a handgun is fairly large. My wedding band was fairly expensive. Trying to find that and scooping it out would likely be much worse than a handgun.

Okay now you guys have me worried, I wasn't thinking of the over used porta potty or the glamping camp site crapper. It would seem that I will need a powerful magnet secured to a long shaft to prepare for the unthinkable.

A CowLady dropped her sixgun down the traditional outhouse.
That was a dive. Fortunately it was new construction that season, used "only" a few matches.

I don't know just what it was but something valuable got flushed all the way down a motor home's drain, calling for a dump and sort of the holding tank.

A bad year at that SASS club.

Avoidance is the key. Drop the trousers, open the lid, do your business. Stand, close the lid, elevate the trousers. Saved a wallet once, a cell phone x2, but I always hold and pull the pistol and the drawers together.

Tungsten Carbide is the answer...

My wife would never know...

I regularly go wade fishing in muddy Ohio waters with an lcp in my pocket. When I get back to my truck I remove the magazine and empty the chamber and magazine and leave the gun, unholstered, in my cupholder for the drive home. As soon as I get home I rinse it in tap water, dry it with compressed air and a towel, and re-lube.

Unless it was a g7 glock that didnt get picked up by the airport security. A magnet wouldn't work.

I did drop a leather BlackBerry case (back when they had a trackball and could only use a special case) in a urinal once. I got it out with a plunger so as not to be an a-hole to some cleaning person, and threw it away. I wasnt going to use that thing anymore. A gun would be a different thing though.

I've had my guns submerged in swamps and lakes and water many times.salt water and brackish. Regular old cleaning has sufficed. I have also fired underwater a few times. Ammo is quite well sealed. As far as the water I wouldn't think a thing of it. As far as no.1 or no.2 however, I'd be highly upset. I've sat through too many many hours of medical and bloodborne pathogen training.

In a public commode I'd likely soak the whole thing in bleach mixture, microban, cavicide or a lysol bath or equivalent . Then water, Then blow dry with the air compressor. Never a fan, as the crap might hit it. I hate public restrooms.
