So Ive got the opportunity to pick up a used XD40 compact with 2 mags (one finger extension, one not) for $350. First is the price check which seems pretty good. Its a dealer friend of mine that has this one off the books so no tax and it hasnt moved so when he told me to make an offer I didnt expect him to take $350.
Next is do I even need the thing. I have been wanting a compact for carry but the XD is as thick as my G22 just a shorter package. It fits my hand really well with the extended mag and its in the caliber that I try to stick with but I just dont know if I feel like taking the plunge. I was looking for a Kahr or something similar for its slimmer package or trying to hold out for a M&P compact but they are virtually nonexistant in my parts. Plus a new carry gun was down there on my list after a full frame .45 range gun, a back woods capable revolver, a few rifles...So basically give me a reason to pick it up or not!
